Dear Soulmate,
Well, Hello You!
How are you doing? Tell me true.
I hope life’s treating you gently, my dear,
But let me share a few thoughts here.
It’s fine that juniors are tying the knot,
Posting their smiles in pictures a lot.
Seniors, with their babies’ tiny feet on display,
I shouldn’t overthink; my time will find its way.
Turning 30 came with quiet surprise,
Like Joey, I laugh with mist in my eyes.
But they say, “What’s meant to be will unfold,”
So I’ll wait for the story destiny has told.
I’ve heard that dating apps are a mixed brew,
But if you’re swiping, let me know which ones you do.
Tinder, Hinge, Bumble—or something shiny and new?
Or are you hiding on some shaadi portal too?
Pubs are dark, and I’ll admit, not my scene,
But cafes and restaurants? The vibes are serene.
Which city are we talking about, by the way?
Travel’s no issue; I’ll be there any day.
Dear Soulmate, I love to travel – hope you do too.
And if you don’t, well… no isn’t really an option for you.
Some days we’ll wander, explore, and roam,
And others just cuddle and stay close to home.
If you’re a doctor, a teacher, or fly planes in the skies,
Don’t be so busy that our paths won’t collide.
Or on a sabbatical, tell me where you roam,
And if you’re an engineer, that’s okay too—welcome home.
Dear Soulmate, retirement’s still a distant gate,
But halfway to sixty—I guess that’s my current state.
Delhi’s smog might steal a year or two,
So come soon, there’s still so much we could do.
So if you’re out there, and I believe you are,
Send me a sign—no matter how far.
Until then, I’ll wait with a hopeful heart,
Knowing someday, our story will start.
